Homemade Tahini Recipe. Easy!

Hungry? Power your dish with a Homemade Tahini!

Tahini is a traditional Middle Eastern paste made from sesame seeds. It is the main ingredient found in hummus, but can also be served on its own as a paste, a delicious salad dressing or dip. It also serves as a healthy alternative to butter or margarine.

Tahini has plenty of health benefits and it highly recommended to combine it in your dishes.

It is rich in minerals such as phosphorus, lecithin, magnesium, potassium and iron and one of the best sources of calcium, which is needed to take care of, especially if you are a vegan or a vegetarian.
It is high in vitamins, such as E and B1, B2, B3, B5 and B15.
For whomever engages in sports: It has 20% complete protein, more than most nuts and helps to maintain healthy skin and muscle tone.

It is possible to buy “Tahini Paste” in a Jar but it is not available in any shop.
What is always available, is its basic ingredient: Sesame seeds!

DIY a homemade Tahini. It is simple and that is what you need:
– 1/3 cup hulled sesame
– 1/4 cup of water
– 1 tbsp of Lemon Juice
– a Pinch of Cayenne pepper
– 1/4 tsp salt
– 1 clove of garlic
– a pinch of pepper

In a blender, in low speed, blend together the water and sesame seeds till their reach the consistency of a paste.
Next, add the lemon juice and continue blending.
Now add the remaining ingredients and blend again

Your finished homemade Tahini should be pasty in texture
